Raghurajpur is a heritage crafts village situated in Puri district of the state Odisha, this village is well known for its Patachitra Paintings. It is the home to crafts like Tussar paintings, palm leaf engravings, stone and wood engravings and paper toys. In the year 2000, the village was chosen to be developed as the heritage village. The Raghurajpur village soon had an interpretation centre, commissioned artwork on the walls of the artist’s homes.
Pattachitra Painting is a fine art painting it is a traditional, cloth-based scroll painting, based on the Hindu Religion and Lord Jagannath. Patas are the traditional decorations which were only distinct to the particular place, used under the throne of lord Jagannath and on the three chariots during the annual RathYatra. Raghurajpur is a traditional village and it was developed as a heritage village. Soon after developing it becomes an important tourist destination of Odisha.
